I’ve done it.
Tired of telling my kids they can’t “help” me when I’m making jewelry, I’ve come up with a design that actually highlights the fact that they’ve helped me!
When I’m working on jewelry, I have some pretty dangerous tools out. Sharp pliers and wire cutters, heavy files (that can do quite a bit of damage to furniture or the house, let alone toys), and hammers (even a sledge hammer!) to name a few.
Used incorrectly, they’ll make an interesting looking pile of metal, but not beautiful jewelry. Especially not delicate wire jewelry.
But I had a design in mind that I thought would benefit from the kids’ help, and I really like the way they’re turning out! They have nothing to do with LoA or personal growth, but some of what I create will be just for the beauty of it.
I call the series Child’s Play: I create the base piece, let my kids go at it (supervised) with the tools, then refine them and clean them up. They’re beautifully textured - sophisticated and simple at the same time.
My pictures don’t do them justice; until I get some better ones, here’s a sneak peek.
These are two different pendants, larger than life to show detail:

Fortunately all my tools are hand tools; nothing electric here.
