A QUICK INTRODUCTION
This site is in the works - it might be a couple of months even, before it’s ready - but I wanted to get something posted here.
My name is Barb Lattin and I make jewelry. I currently sell it at www.LittleThingsJewelry.com - a beautiful site, if I say so myself.
But I realized last September that I needed to focus my business, which I was so excited to start, back on it’s original intent: spiritual and personal growth “reminders”. That’s what this site is.
SOME BACKGROUND
A little more than five years ago I started my “conscious” journey down the Law of Attraction path. I realized I’d been getting tidbits of this information in the books I’d been reading since I started my spiritual journey just out of high school, and that I’d actually already known this stuff as a child.
But as I read more and more - immersing myself in it - I kept thinking that people (read: I) needed something with me throughout the day to remind me of particular affirmations or ideas that I wanted to focus on. As a stay-at-home-mom (by this time with a toddler and a newborn) leading a local parenting support group and being very involved in my community, I had a lot on my mind. It was usually about how difficult it all was, and I rarely remembered that I created my reality. So I kept having a lot of “difficult” in my life.
But I wanted to focus on what I wanted, not what I didn’t want.
I FOUND THE WAYÂ
And I realized that jewelry was “the way” it would work. I read many wonderful books and even found a local New Thought church, where I eventually took a class. It was all very wonderful. And then I got overwhelmed.
Over the next two years, I searched for my medium. Exactly how was I going to create this “reminder” jewelry? This jewelry “with a message”? Then one day, when I had another newborn (he was a little over one month old), I saw my medium: hand-stamped sterling silver.
I started creating some pieces and increased my skills, and in August of 2005 I was ready to start my business. I remember that I had the hardest time settling on a name. I wanted “Whisper & Shout”, because the pieces - with customized phrases that fit on a sterling silver bracelet - would whisper to the wearer or shout out to the world… their beliefs, their affirmations, their hopes and dreams.
GETTING OFF TRACK
My mother was very excited for me, and being a very experienced business woman, gave me a lot of advice. Which got me off track. I chose the business name of Little Things (because little things make a big difference). Not that she liked that one, either, but it was “acceptable”. And my new target market was moms like me, who had little money but wanted to wear “nice” jewelry.
But moms like me weren’t buying.
And in August of 2006, after starting a local support group for at-home business women, I realized I needed to refocus my business on its original intent.
WHY THIS NAME
So here we are, with a new business name. It took me from August of 2006 to January of 2007 to come up with it.
ops: I knew I wanted the name to be about magic or something magical, and to incorporate the Law of Attraction as much as possible. I think Feels Like Magic does it all.
The Law of Attraction seems to work “as if by magic”, when you’re consciously directing your life. And the big “secret” of LoA is that you need to feel the way you want to feel when you’ve got what you want to have. I love the name and hope you do, too.
WHAT YOU’LL FIND HERE
What you will eventually find here is jewelry that “speaks to your soul” - some with actual words and phrases, some that represent those things in life you want to attract more (or some) of. I’ll also have book, movie, and magazine recommendations, as well as links to great sites. It is also my intention to have free e-books for you to download, and I may even be offering products of my own (they’re currently just thoughts, but we all know that “thoughts are things”
).
I look forward to sharing with you and helping you along your journey! May the rest of your day, nay - your life - be magical.
Remember your power. Feel your power. Embrace your power.
