I Want To Turn The Whole Thing Upside Down

Posted by: Barb on Jul 05, 2007

Playing games with others is always fun for me and it’s not often that I get to play games with other adults. That’s one of the reasons why I enjoy the game of blog tag. That, and it gives the blogger a chance to share something about their self they might not otherwise.

As I logged on to work on a post I’ve been working on for a few days (and really need to have two hands for, instead of the one I usually have at the computer with my little one asleep on my lap), I saw that I was being included in a fun game of tag.

Vickie at Contemplate This tagged me to write about a song that makes my heart sing. Oh, this one is easy!

Upside Down by Jack Johnson, written (as far as I know) for Curious George the movie, just makes me feel so GOOD! I can’t help but mooooove and groooooove.

The lyrics are so much about creating the life we want. They’re about not getting stuck living a certain way because it’s what others tell us is right or how we should live. It’s about not being limited by other peoples ideas and opinions. My kind of song!

For me there’s more to it. It’s about turning the world upside down with the information that we create our realities!

This is actually the song that I’m going to put on my Mind Movie, when I finally get around to doing that (I’ll post about that when I do, too).

Here are the lyrics of the song that makes my heart sing - open up this video in a new tab and then you can sing along. D

Artist: Jack Johnson

Song: Upside Down

Who’s to say
What’s impossible
Well they forgot
This world keeps spinning
And with each new day
I can feel a change in everything
And as the surface breaks reflections fade
But in some ways they remain the same
And as my mind begins to spread its wings
There’s no stopping curiosity

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I’ll find the things they say just can’t be found
I’ll share this love I find with everyone
We’ll sing and dance to Mother Nature’s songs
I don’t want this feeling to go away

Who’s to say
I can’t do everything
Well I can try
And as I roll along I begin to find
Things aren’t always just what they seem

I want to turn the whole thing upside down
I’ll find the things they say just can’t be found
I’ll share this love I find with everyone
We’ll sing and dance to Mother Nature’s songs
This world keeps spinning and there’s no time to waste
Well it all keeps spinning spinning round and round and

Upside down
Who’s to say what’s impossible and can’t be found
I don’t want this feeling to go away

Please don’t go away
Please don’t go away
Please don’t go away
Is this how it’s supposed to be
Is this how it’s supposed to be

According to the rules I must now tag three others. Going through my blogroll, I’m going to tag:

Terri and Jeannette and Raven

Songs that make your Heart Sing: The Playlist… It’s been a long time coming, but I’ve finally gotten around to compiling the playlist of Songs that Make your Heart Sing. I think I’ve tracked down all the posts, but if I’ve missed any that you’re aware of, maybe…
